THE ART OF DESIGNING EMBEDDED SYSTEMS 落書き
ここでは、基本的な知識の復習を一応書いておく
RISC vs CISC
Reduced/Complex Instruction Set Computers, have Instruction Set Architechtures which require more or less cycles per instruction.
RISC computers have smaller more general instruction sets.
ROM vs RAM
ROM is non volatile and used to store the program, RAM is run-time brain power.
ASIC
Application Specific Integrated Circuit.
Can be SOC or not, usually is these days apparently.
For applications where requirements are propietory/not public
MEM-TYPES
OTP (One time programmable/ PROM)
plastic packaging, write once only, cheap, good for validation stage
EEPROM - can reprogram so flexible, good for design stage
expensive because of ceramic material
